Adoption Update

We wanted to update everyone with our difficult decision not to adopt another baby right now. We don't know what the future holds, but for now we don't feel it is the right thing for our family.

We thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers through this :)

Not much to report

We don't have too much to report. Fundraising is slow going. We are working on paperwork.
Here is a CUTE pick of Isaiah. He turned Daddy's gaming chair over and uses it as a slide. Our boy is so smart!

Park and 1st Approval

Here are some pics of Isaiah at the park the other day. He loves his cousins! He plays a ton with Kaleb and is so sweet to little Camille.

We got our initial approval from Hope's Promise today to start our second adoption along with a large packet of documents to complete. I will be busy working on that over the next couple weeks :) I have really put my trust in God to show us the path to find the funds for this adoption, but going through the paperwork today did give me a little worry. I realized that we need to have $10,400 to Hope's within the next 2 months!!! That is a little unsettling to think about. However, God keeps reminding of this scripture...

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Info on the Federal Adoption Credit

The federal adoption tax credit will help make our adoption possible. We are hoping it will still be around when we complete our adoption so we can take advantage of it. The tax credit is set to expire in December 2010 unless Congress votes to continue it.
The Adoption Tax Relief Guarantee Act of 2009, H.R. 213, would keep the adoption tax credit from being repealed, and may make the tax relief measure permanent.
It only takes a few minutes to email or call your senators and congressmen — it’s important for them to hear from families impacted by the tax credit.

Adopting again.....

We have started the process of adopting another baby and completing our family :o) We have just sent in the application and are waiting to hear what paperwork is in need of completion. This part of the process and the home study will take a couple of months. Then we will be "in the pool" again!!!

We are doing some fundraising right now and will be having a big garage sale this Spring. Info on the magazine and Mary Kay fundraising we are doing is on our blog homepage. We have also had a few family and friends that were super generous and have given us money. We are so thankful to everyone who has and is helping us, we are very blessed to have you all in our lives! We would not be able to do this without the help of others since this adoption will cost us between $20K and $24K.

I will try to update the blog weekly or so. Or if we have any big news.

What Isaiah Wants....

Since Isaiah has realized he has birthday coming in 2 shorts months, he has been pre-shopping! He has let mommy and daddy know that something to ride in or on would be ideal :) He is growing up so fast! And his smile seems to get better and better each day, I have no idea how that is even possible. What a complete JOY he is!
