Isaiah's first week

These are pictures from his first few days at home.

We are all doing well and still adjusting to the big changes. Isaiah is finding is own schedule. He is sleeping from 3 - 4 hours at a time and he is eating when he wakes up. Isaiah is a very content baby as long as he is not naked. He seems to be a good sleeper, he doesn't wake up for the dogs, the doorbell, or really anything else for that matter. He is eating great too. He is eating just over 2oz of formula each feeding, which the doctor said was great.

We went to the doctor on Friday and he weighed 7lbs 6z, we went back yesterday and he is gaining again. He weighed in at 7lbs 12oz. His nephew Kaleb is up to 15lbs 2oz, so he is doing good also.

Welcome Home

We are home. Isaiah is doing great, he slept through his first night, and also his ride home. He has been eating very well also. We are hoping that he will continue to sleep through his nights, but not counting on it.

We will post more as he gets used to his new home. Thank you to everyone for your support and prayers.

The polls have closed!?!?!

Well, after yesterday we thought it would be a while. It wasn't. HE IS HERE!!!!! He was born today, April 11th at about 5:06am. He was 7lbs 14oz and 21 inches long.

We got a call at 4:35 this morning, and by the time we got to the hospital at 5:25, he was waiting for us.

I have attached some pictures.

Guessing Time...

Katie (one of Isaiah's Aunties) had a great idea! She suggested that family and friends post their guesses for the following:
When will he be born, day and time?
How tall will he be?
How much will he weigh?
Eye and hair color?

We can't wait to see what you all will guess! This will just be a little game for us to keep our minds off the fact he isn't here yet!

Love to all!

Update form the case worker

We spoke to the case worker last night and she told us that Erica had a doctors appointment last week and everything is going well. The doctor said that Isaiah is doing very well. She has another appointment next week, so we will have more information next week as to how they are both doing.

We have an update

We spoke to the case worker today and found out that the doctors have changed the due date to April 24th.

We also found out that the father has sent back the letter to the agency stating that he is planning on disputing the adoption. So we called the agency and spoke with one of the case workers about the situation, and she walked me through the process if he actually goes through with the dispute.

Step One: Hire an attorney
Step Two: File an official Paternity dispute with the courts
Step Three: go to court and prove he is the father (the court will require a DNA test at his expense)
Step Four: Go back to court and prove that he has the ability to provide a stable home for the child (assuming the DNA test proves he is the Father)

He needs to complete steps one and two within four days of the baby being born. The case worker that I spoke to ensured us that with the history of drugs and violence in his past, along with the lengthy record he has for various other activities makes his case not winnable. We are hoping and praying that he will not formally protest the adoption, and that he is just making noise for the sake of disrupting our lives. If he fails to follow any of these steps at any time, his parental rights will be terminated immediately. The court proceedings will be held in Douglas County with the one judge that Hope's Promise uses for all of their adoptions. Since they have a very good relationship with this judge, we are in very good standing with our case for the adoption to proceed.

That is it for now, we will post again later.
